Why Join DGR

Why Our Servers Choose DGR

We've been doing this since 1981. We know what process servers need to succeed, and we build that into how we operate.

Employee, Not a Gig Worker

You're part of the DGR team, not just a contractor in an app. That means accountability, support, and pride in what you do.

Our Server App

Our new app puts everything you need at your fingertips. Job assignments, GPS check-in, photo capture, and digital affidavit completion — all in one place.

Ongoing Training

We invest in our people. Receive continuous training on NJ, NY, and PA court rules, service requirements, and best practices so you always serve with confidence.

Competitive Pay

Earn competitive compensation for completed serves. We pay fairly because our servers are employees, not contractors we squeeze for margin.

Flexible Scheduling

Build a schedule that works for you. Full-time routes or part-time opportunities available across NJ, NY, and PA.

Real Team Support

Questions on a serve? Unusual situation? You have an experienced DGR team behind you, not just a chatbot. We pick up the phone.

Meaningful Work

Every document you serve upholds the right to due process. You're not delivering packages — you're helping justice move forward.

Room to Grow

As DGR expands into NY and PA, we're building the team that grows with us. Top performers have opportunities to take on more responsibility.

Requirements

What You Need to Get Started

We keep our requirements straightforward. If you're reliable, professional, and ready to work, we want to hear from you.

Basic Requirements

Valid Driver's License & Auto Insurance

You'll need a current driver's license and valid auto insurance to serve in the field.

Reliable Transportation

A dependable vehicle is essential for getting to serve locations on time and consistently.

Smartphone

You'll use our server app for job assignments, GPS check-in, photo capture, and digital affidavits.

Printer

Some serves require printing documents. We reimburse printing costs per page.

18 Years or Older

All DGR process servers must be at least 18 years of age.

State-Specific Requirements

New Jersey

NJ does not require a statewide process server license. DGR will walk you through any county-specific requirements during onboarding.

New York

Process servers in NYC are required to be licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs. DGR will guide you through the process.

Pennsylvania

PA requirements vary by county. Our team will confirm what applies to your service area during onboarding.

The DGR Advantage

Unlike gig platforms that leave you to figure out licensing on your own, DGR guides every new employee through state and county requirements. You won't navigate compliance alone — our team has been doing this since 1981.

Frequently ASked Questions

Questions We Hear Most.

Am I an employee or an independent contractor?

DGR hires process servers as employees, not independent contractors. This is one of our core differences from national gig platforms. You'll receive a W2, not a 1099.

What areas are you hiring in?

We are currently expanding our team across New Jersey, with hiring coming to New York and Pennsylvania. All NJ counties are of interest, particularly Essex, Bergen, Hudson, and Morris.

What if I'm unable to complete a serve on the first attempt?

Multiple attempts are sometimes necessary. You document each attempt through the app with GPS and photo evidence. Our team provides guidance on strategy for difficult serves.

What does the onboarding process look like?

After applying, a DGR team member will contact you for a brief phone interview. From there, you'll complete orientation and training, get set up on our app, and receive your first assignment.

Do I need prior experience as a process server?

Prior experience is helpful but not required. We provide thorough training during onboarding to get you ready, covering service rules, court requirements, and app usage.

How do I receive my job assignments?

All assignments come through our server app. You'll be notified of new jobs in your area, can view details and documents, and manage your route entirely from your phone.

Do I need a special license or certification?

Requirements vary by state and county. NJ generally does not require a statewide license. NY has specific NYC licensing requirements. We guide every new hire through what applies to them.

Is there a dress code?

There is no official dress code, but we expect our servers to present themselves professionally. Your presentation at a serve location directly impacts your success rate and represents DGR.
